"VANCOUVER -- A driver crashed his car into a backyard pool in Vancouver early Friday morning.
Crews responded just after 4 a.m. to the report of a crash in the 2100 block of NW 84th Loop, according to Dawn Johnson of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
“The car was traveling south on NW 21st Avenue when it left the roadway, crashed into a fence and landed in the swimming pool,” Johnson said. “A cover on the pool prevented the car from sinking.”
The driver, 23-year-old Eric Randall Brown of Battle Ground, climbed out of the car and firefighters found him walking near the scene. He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
He was cited at the hospital for DUII and leaving the scene of a crash, according to CCSO Sgt. Fred Neiman.
A crane was used to pull the car out of the pool just after 9:30 a.m.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office was investigating."
