"A Tukwila man was seriously injured in a crash that embedded a
guardrail inside the passenger compartment of the car he was driving.
Haybe Ahmed was driving a Toyota Camry northbound on Highway 509 in
Burien at 12:11 p.m. Tuesday when he drove across a lane and struck a
guardrail separating northbound and southbound traffic near Southeast
128th Street, according to the State Patrol.
Ahmed, 46, was trapped in the car until medics extracted him. He was
listed in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on
Tuesday evening.
Police investigating the crash haven't determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role.
The State Patrol says the guardrail prevented Ahmed's vehicle from crossing into oncoming traffic"
