"(GASTON, Ore.) - Oregon State Police (OSP) is
completing the investigation into an overturned commercial truck and
trailer that dumped a load of household trash onto Highway 47 south of
the Washington / Yamhill County line. The crash closed the highway and
the involved driver was treated and released for minor injuries.
According to OSP Lieutenant Eric Davenport, on October
4, 2010 at approximately 7:15 a.m. a 2001 Mack truck pulling a large
trailer loaded with household trash was driven by Charles L. Ryder, age
42, from Aloha, southbound on Highway 47 near milepost 30. Preliminary
investigation indicates the trailer's load shifted causing the driver to
lose control. The truck and trailer rolled onto its side after
striking a PGE pole, resulting in complete highway blockage.
Ryder, who was driving for Walsh Trucking, was
transported by ambulance to Willamette Valley Medical Center with minor
injuries. He was treated and released.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, Gaston Fire Department, PGE and ODOT."
