"BARNSTABLE — It was not a very happy new year for a 20-year-old Bourne man who crashed his car into a tree after a domestic dispute and now faces charges driving under the influence of alcohol.
Barnstable police responded to a reported dispute at a home in West Barnstable around 2 a.m. yesterday. After interviewing the woman, officers started looking for Seth Broemmer, who police said had fled the scene. At 2:24 a.m., an officer arrested the Sagamore man after his car crashed into a tree on Shoot Flying Hill Road near the Craigville Motel.
Broemmer was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, operating to endanger, and as a minor transporting alcohol, police said.
He was scheduled to be arraigned on those charges this morning in Barnstable District Court."

Date: 11/20/2007
Time: Around 11:30 A.M.
Location: Truro, Massachusetts
Vehicle(s) Involved: Toyota Camry, dump truck

By Cape Cod Times

"The head-on collision of a car and a dump truck closed Route 6 in Truro today near the turn-off for Route 6A.
The driver of the car, who was not identified by the police, was transported by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries.
The accident, the town’s second head-on crash on Route 6 in two weeks, happened about 11:30 a.m. when a northbound Toyota Camry apparently crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a heavy-duty dump truck owned by Noons Construction Co. of North Truro, said Truro Police Chief John Thomas.
The driver of the truck, who Thomas would not yet identify, was not hurt, he said.
Truro rescue personnel initially called for a helicopter to transport the driver of the car to Boston, but the helicopter was grounded due to inclement weather, Thomas said.
More than a dozen fire fighters, paramedics and police officers from Truro, Wellfleet, Orleans and Harwich have been at the scene. Some of the officers are members of the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council’s accident reconstruction team.
Sand from the dump truck was strewn across the highway and the car’s front passenger side was crushed and pinned beneath the truck’s front-end."

State Police Cruiser collides with Acura Legend.

Date: 10/06/2007
Time: Around 6:00 P.M.
Location: South Dennis, Massachusetts
Vehicle(s) Involved: Acura Legend, Ford Crown Victoria

By Cape Cod Today

"South Dennis- The call came in to Dennis Fire headquarters at 6:02 p.m. Saturday reporting a crash near the entrance to Robert Childs Inc., on Great Western Road in South Dennis near the Harwich town line.

Witnesses at the scene report that an Acura Legend was headed westbound on Great Western Road and was apparently about to turn left into the Childs entrance road when it was struck by a Massachusetts State Police cruiser, also traveling westbound reportedly at a high rate of speed according to witnesses. It could not immediately be confirmed if the cruiser was responding to an emergency at the time of the crash.

The cruiser had attempted to pass the Acura on the left. The impact spun the Acura 180 degrees and sent the cruiser over the curb and into a tree on the right-hand side of the road, about 100 yards from the collision. The driver of the Acura was transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Harwich ambulance. The trooper Steven Culver was treated and released at Cape Cod Hospital. Dennis, Harwich, and State Police were all on the scene. The crash remains under investigation. (Story and photos by Kevin Morley)"

UPDATE, 6:30 p.m. — Calling the crash "horrendous," witnesses tell Westborough Patch that it appeared the person was pulled from the backseat of a burning Lexus.
Reportedly, firefighters had trouble getting to the person, believed to be a man, because the flames would reignite each time a rescue attempt was made.
The bottom half of the telephone pole is said to be destroyed and the car is still sitting in a nearby lawn.

Friday, June 22, 6:15 p.m. — At 6 p.m., Westborough police and firefighters were called to the scene of a crash near West and West Main streets. A car was reported to be on fire, with live wires draped over it and a person trapped inside.
First responders confirmed that the wires were live. An ambulance was called to the scene and the person pulled from the car was taken “priority one” to the hospital. Preliminary and unconfirmed reports indicate the person was a Grafton resident.
Grafton police were asked to divert traffic away from West Main Street into town.
Police Chief Alan Gordon, officers and fire officials remain at the scene at this time.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned to Westborough Patch for more information as it becomes available."

Hingham crash sends four to hospital, one with serious injuries.

Date: 05/29/2012
Time: Around 6:40 AM
Location: Hingham, Massachusetts
Vehicle(s) Involved: Toyota Corolla

By Jessica Bartlett, Globe Staff

"Police are investigating a one-car crash that occurred on East Street on Monday that sent four to the hospital — one with life-threatening injuries.
At 6:46 a.m., officers responded to 195 East Street, where police believe a 2006 Toyota Corolla was traveling north on East Street, failed to stay in the road, and struck a tree head on.
The vehicle had a driver, a front seat passenger, and two rear seat passengers. Only the driver was wearing a seat belt.
Upon impact, the two rear seat passengers were thrown into the front seat. No one was ejected from the vehicle. The driver’s side airbag deployed.
Four ambulances responded. Three victims were transported to South Shore Hospital and one transported to Boston Medical Center.
Officers were still there four hours later, and had closed off East Street at the Route 3A and Kilby Street intersection.
Officers are still identifying the passengers. The crash is being investigated by crash reconstructionists from the Hingham Police Department.
No names, ages, or home towns have been released yet pending identification and notification of relatives"
