Time: Around 2:00 P.M.
Location: Olympia, Washington
Vehicle(s) Involved: Chrysler New Yorker

"A car being driven about 25 mph suddenly accelerated, vaulted off a hill and smashed into the TVW building in downtown Olympia on Wednesday, witnesses said.
The crash left the sedan, a Chrysler New Yorker, suspended over an
alley separating the parking lot used by TVW and the TVW building
itself, at 1063 Capitol Way S. The driver, a man in his mid-80s, was
stuck inside the vehicle for about 10 minutes as Olympia Fire Department
personnel worked to remove him. He wasn’t injured.
The crash drove a locker that was against a wall inside a TVW break room onto the ground; that could have injured employees had the 2 p.m. crash happened during the lunch hour, TVW President Greg Lane said.
Police Officer Rob Beckwell was interviewing the driver Wednesday. He was conscious and alert, Beckwell said.
“He’s OK, just a little disoriented,” he said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, Beckwell said.
“We’re just really pleased no one was hurt,” Lane said. “It looks like the driver’s OK.”
TVW is the state’s public-affairs network, a TV station that bills itself as this state’s version of C-SPAN.
The man driving erratically on Capital Way and was in a crash at a stoplight near the Capitol before pulling into the TVW parking lot, witnesses said. Investigators think the driver had struck a state vehicle at the stoplight before turning into the TVW lot, Officer Brenda Anderson said.
Adam Meyer and his sister Lindsey were driving behind the sedan when, they say, it was involved in the crash near the Capitol. They said they watched as the driver pulled into the TVW lot. The second crash was extremely loud, they said.
“We were listening to dubstep and we heard it,” Lindsey Meyer said.
Inside the break room at TVW, relieved employees surveyed the damage.
“Normally, we’re right in these chairs watching TV” during lunch, senior production manager Patrick Maxwell said.
TVW is having an engineer examine the building to make sure it is structurally sound, Lane said.
It is too early to tell whether any citations will be issued, Beckwell said."
