"CONNELLSVILLE TWP. — Two girls were killed and another person injured on Friday following a two-vehicle accident on Breakneck Road.Fayette County Coroner Phillip Reilly said that (censored), 12, of Connellsville died in the accident that occurred at 1:40 p.m. on Friday. State police said the other girl, (censored), 14, of Connellsville, was taken to UMPC/Children’s Hospital. The Allegheny County Coroner’s office said Darrell was pronounced dead at 3:50 p.m. on Saturday at the hospital. Autopsy results were not available on Saturday.

Reilly said the driver, Victor’s mother, Erica, 41, of Connellsville was taken to tertiary trauma center at UPMC/Presbyterian Hospital. A hospital spokesman said she was discharged on Saturday.

Reilly said Dr. Larry Stept pronounced (censored) dead at 3:06 p.m. on Friday in Highland Hospital. Reilly said based on reports from the accident, she died as a result of blunt force trauma with lethal head injuries and pelvic fractures. He said Victor did not suffer because she was unconscious.

(censored) was not wearing a seat belt, Reilly said. State police reported that Erica Victor’s vehicle, a Dodge Spirit, lost control on the snow-covered Breakneck Road and crossed the center line into the northbound lane before it was struck in the passenger side by the second vehicle, a GMC Sierra.

The driver of the second vehicle was not injured, according to emergency personnel at the scene. State police have not identified the 66-year-old man from Connellsville. Reilly said (censored) was not ejected from the vehicle, but was trapped inside the car along with her mother and Darrell when emergency personnel arrived. Robbie Leiberger, assistant fire chief of the Connellsville Township Volunteer Fire Department, said it took nearly 20 minutes for the rescue crews to remove them from the car. The investigating officer, state police Trooper Michael Larkin, said the accident remains under investigation. Leiberger said that snow-covered roads likely contributed to the accident. “It was really nasty out there,” he said. Bullskin Township Volunteer Fire Department, Fayette EMS, state police and the Connellsville Township road maintenance crew also responded to the accident."

Students, adults injured in Polk school bus crash.

"A Polk County school bus carrying students was involved in a crash this afternoon in Bartow, injuring nine students and two adults, Polk County Fire Rescue said.
According to a report, the bus and a 2012 Chevy Sonic crashed at Highway 60 and Old Connersville Road. Fire Rescue received the call at 4:23 p.m.
The school bus attendant was taken to Bartow Regional Medical Center by ambulance. Nine students and the school bus driver were also transported to BRMC by school bus.
Two injured students were released to their parents, and 19 uninjured students were taken home by bus.
The Bartow Middle School students were on their way home to the Connersville/Alturas area, the report said.
The driver of the 2012 Chevy Sonic had minor scrapes and bruises and refused treatment, the report said.

School Bus, Pickup Truck Crash in Huffman

"HOUSTON - Several students and a 43-year-old man were injured after a pickup truck slammed into a school bus in Huffman, Texas.
The accident happened around 2:20 p.m. on FM 2100 near FM 1960, according to the Huffman Independent School District. The pickup truck reportedly hit the school bus head-on.
Some students on the bus suffered minor injuries. They are being evaluated by emergency crews.
The 43-year-old man was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital by a LifeFlight helicopter. He was last listed in stable condition."

Driver in Sunrise crash allegedly high.

"The operator of a black Nissan was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs after an accident Thursday morning that briefly closed the westbound lanes of Sunrise Highway in West Islip, officials said.

The driver was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center with head and face lacerations and is still at the hospital, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department. The driver of the second vehicle was also taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center and has been released.

The Suffolk County Sheriff's Department was investigating the accident, which occurred east of the Robert Moses Causeway at 9:09 a.m. The westbound Sunrise Highway lanes were re-opened at 10:32 a.m., the sheriff's office said.

1 dead in serious wreck in Foxcroft along Fairview Road.

"CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A man died in a two-vehicle wreck Thursday afternoon on Fairview Road in south Charlotte.
The wreck happened at 2:33 pm at the intersection of Simsbury and Fairview, which is at the Foxcroft Shopping Center, about a mile from SouthPark Mall.
As of 5:20 pm, Fairview Road was reopened.
Police said that the wreck happened like this:
The driver of a 2007 BMW 328i, Wendy Kornegay, was stopped at the stop sign on Simsbury Road waiting to make a right turn onto Fairview Road when her vehicle was struck from behind by a 2008 Acura TL travelling at a high rate of speed.
The force of the impact pushed the woman's BMW into Fairview Road, but it was not struck by oncoming traffic.
The Acura TL continued across Fairview Road and collided into a tree alongside the road.
The driver of the Acura, (Name), 74, was pronounced deceased on scene, police said.   His family has been notified of his death.
Kornegay was evaluated by paramedics and was not taken to a hospital.

Three injured in Monday morning crash near Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park.

"A crash at the intersection of Russell and Riley-Thompson roads in Muskegon County's Dalton Township shortly after 11 a.m. Monday sent three people to Mercy General Health Partners' Hackley Campus, police said.

The extent of the three crash victims' injuries was not immediately available.

Muskegon County Sheriff Dean Roesler said the crash occurred when a young Detroit-area man driving a Chevy Impala north on Russell turned left on Riley-Thompson, into the path of a southbound Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven by a Muskegon-area woman.

The Muskegon-area woman was alone in her vehicle. The Detroit-area man had a young female passenger, also from the Detroit area, in the vehicle with him. All three were transported to the hospital, Roesler said.

The crash tied up traffic — presumably much of it headed for Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park, which is two miles west of the accident scene. The amusement park opens at 11 a.m.

Police blocked off traffic headed north on Russell. Vehicles exiting U.S. 31 and headed north were diverted to another route.

The intersection of Russell and Riley-Thompson is marked with a full stoplight.

Roesler said authorities this morning were trying to locate witnesses to the accident. They thought that someone, possibly a doctor or nurse, had stopped to check on the crash victims, then left as emergency medical personnel arrived. Roesler said authorities would like to talk to that person, or any other people who may have seen the crash.

27-year-old Grand Rapids man dies in snowy Cascade Road crash.

"GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP - A Grand Rapids man was pronounced dead after his vehicle crashed into a tree Friday afternoon.

Around 3:25 p.m. (Censored), 27, was driving eastbound on Cascade Road SE, west of Cascade West Parkway, when he traveled off the snowy roadway and struck a tree.

Bedinger was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived at Spectrum Butterworth.

He was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was not a factor, the Kent County Sheriff's Department said.

Witnesses estimate the man's Honda Element was traveling eastbound about 45 to 50 mph when it crossed into the westbound lanes. It went off the road and hit a tree by the Cascade Country Club golf course."

"Grand Blanc Fire fighters and police respond to a crash that left one man dead and two others injured after a head-on crash between two vehicles around 10 a.m. today on Perry Road near Belsay Road, police said. Police said the man was driving a Chevy Malibu eastbound on Perry when he collided with another vehicle going westbound. It is unclear what caused the accident, police say. The other two victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Perry Road is shut down while police investigate the incident"

Police investigating fatal crash on South Shields Street.

"The woman who died in this morning's rollover in south Fort Collins is identified as (Name), 24, of Broomfield, according to Larimer County Coroner's Office.
The one-vehicle accident was discovered by a passing motorist at about 3 a.m. on South Shields Street north of Trilby Road.

The green GMC sports utility vehicle was northbound on Shields and appears to have lost control and and ran off the right side of the road. The driver appears to have then over-corrected and the SUV went off the left side of the road, rolling several times.

Garcia was ejected and died on the scene, according to Fort Collins Police Services.

She is found to have died by accident of multiple blunt-force trauma, according to the coroner's office, which performed an autopsy today.

It is unknown whether speed, drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident, and those questions will not likely be answered until toxicology tests are conducted by Larimer County Coroner's Office, according to police.

South Shields Street between West Harmony Road and West Trilby Road was closed for about seven hours during the investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the accident who has not provided police with a statement is asked to call officer David Kaes at (970) 221-6555.

This is the second fatal crash in Larimer County so far this year."
