"Three vehicles were involved in a minor accident at S.W. Huntoon and Topeka just after 10 a.m. Thursday.
Topeka police officer Jesse Lowe said a silver car was traveling southbound on Topeka when it struck an Oldsmobile Alero traveling eastbound on Huntoon. A Honda Accord also traveling eastbound on Huntoon was unable to avoid the collision and got caught up in the wreck.
Lowe said Huntoon had a green light, but Topeka had a red. The driver of the silver car was cited for a red light violation, he said.
Wet road conditions were also a factor in the accident, Lowe said.
The Topeka Police Department, Topeka Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to the scene.
No injuries were reported."

Freight train hits car carrier in Kent.

"KENT, Wash. - A freight train smashed into a semi truck loaded with new cars as the truck was crossing the tracks Friday afternoon, officials said.
The impact mangled the semi tractor's cab and its trailer, and impaled a new car on the front of the train's engine, which continued down the tracks for another half mile before it was able to stop.
There were no injuries reported in the crash, which took place on State Route 167 at South 212th Street.
The twisted remains of the semi-trailer and its cargo of new cars remain at the scene of the impact, and the highway remains closed where the train is blocking both lanes.
Kent firefighters responded to the scene of the accident.

2 seriously hurt in Greenwood motorcycle crash.

"SEATTLE -- Two people were seriously injured when a motorcycle collided with a car in North Seattle on Monday evening.

Police spokesman Mark Jamieson said the motorcycle carrying two people was traveling rather fast down Greenwood Avenue when it struck a car turning left onto 102nd around 8:48 p.m.

Both occupants of the motorcycle were thrown from the bike and sustained life-threatening injuries. Their names and conditions have not been released.

The cause of the crash has not been determined.

Greenwood Avenue was shut down from 101st to 103rd for several hours following the accident during the investigation."

"A Toronto cop was seriously injured when he apparently lost control of his cruiser while racing to a crime scene and smashed into a car in East York this morning.
Witnesses say the officer, who may have been responding to a robbery, was southbound on Dawes Rd. near Victoria Park Ave. at a high rate of speed with lights flashing and sirens blaring when he crashed around 9:30 a.m.
Dinesh Rathasingam, 22, was driving home with friends after spending the night at a Tamil vigil downtown when the cruiser flew by his car.
He watched in his rearview mirror as the police vehicle slid sideways and slammed into a Toyota Corolla parked at the side of the road.
"I was almost in tears, I was so freaking out for his life," said Rathasingam, after he and his pals ran to the officer's aid and called 911.
One of the others in Rathasingam's car described it as "a massive hit."
"I'm still shaking," Gowrishangar Kamalanathan, 24, said.
He and others said the officer was out cold and bleeding badly from a head injury, but he seemed to regain consciousness before being whisked away by ambulance to the trauma centre at Sunnybrook hospital.
A 76-year-old man who was in the parked Corolla was taken to Sunnybrook hospital.
Toronto Police said the province's special investigations unit, which probes all incidents of serious injury or death involving police, was contacted and may invoke their mandate.

According to Public Information Officer Charles Dysart a Greyhound bus that departed from Atlanta Georgia heading towards Jackson Mississippi crashed on I-20 West bound, near exit 166. The driver's side front tire blew causing the driver to loose control of the bus. Lebanon man dies after driving into downed tree on Oregon 211.

"ESTACADA -- An 81-year-old Lebanon man died Sunday  morning a day after he drove into a downed tree, his vision possibly blocked by sunlight.

(Censored), 81, was taken by Lifeflight to Legacy Emanuel with critical injuries, according to OSP Recruit Trooper Kevin Ferguson.

Strong winds brought the tree down on the west side of Oregon 211 about three miles south of Estacada. It came to rest across most of the roadway. At least one driver had already stopped and was trying to warn other drivers.

Walling was driving a 1985 El Camino. He was wearing a seat belt. The highwas was closed for about 90 minutes."
