"TULSA, Oklahoma -

A woman is dead and a teenager is in critical condition after the van they were riding in was nearly split in two by a car that ran a stop sign early Tuesday evening, police said.

The two, who police said are sisters, stopped at a four-way stop at 21st Street and South Lynn Lane in East Tulsa. When they started to drive across the intersection, a car ran the stop sign and T-boned the minivan, according to police.
Both the driver of the minivan, 27, and her 17-year-old passenger were flown by medical helicopter to a Tulsa hospital, where the driver was pronounced dead.
Police initially believed the driver of the minivan was also a teenager, but later learned she was older.
The driver of the car was transported by EMSA to a hospital.  She'll be tested for alcohol and drugs, police on the scene said.
Crash investigators estimated the car was traveling between 55-65 mph at the time of the crash.
Identification of those involved is pending while authorities notify family members."

"Kennewick — A teenage motorcyclist who reportedly missed a stop sign has died after slamming into a pickup truck about 4:15 p.m. today at the intersection of 45th Avenue and Olympia Street in Kennewick.

Witnesses reported the motorcyclist was heading west on 45th and doing wheelies, according to Kennewick police Sgt. Mike Genack.

The 17-year-old Kennewick boy drove around another car stopped at the stop sign at 45th and then into a late-model Ford pickup truck driving north on Olympia, Genack said.

Witnesses performed CPR until Kennewick paramedics arrived. The teen died at Kennewick General Hospital.

The driver of the pickup lives near the intersection and was on his way home after day of fishing. He was towing a drift boat.

The intersection is still closed for the investigation. The names of the drivers have not been released."

Man driving on slick road tries to stop car, ends up crashing into CSX train.

"HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - A man was taken to the hospital after he crashed his car into a CSX train in Hillsborough Wednesday night.
The incident happened on U.S. 41 South of Madison Avenue at 11:30 p.m.
The man was driving on a wet road when he saw the crossing arm at the train tracks coming down, but he could not stop his car. The vehicle ended up sliding under the crossing arm and hitting the front of the train’s engine.
The train wasn’t damaged, but the front of the driver’s vehicle sustained damage.
The man suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital. His current condition is unknown.
It isn’t yet clear whether the man will face any charges.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash."

Former Springfield man killed in crash.

"ILLINOIS VALLEY, Ore. - A former Springfield resident died Wednesday morning after his car went off the road and creashed head-on into a tree.

(censored), 28, managed to crawl from the wreckage of his car sometime during the night. He was conscious when medics arrived after the accident was reported to 911 at 5:30 a.m. He died on the way to the hospital.

Oregon State Police investigators said Soesbe was driving a 1995 Mitsubishi
Mirage when the car went straight off Dick George Road in a righthand turn.

After leaving the road, the car crashed into a tree and overturned.

Soesbe was living and working in the area. He had previously lived in Springfield and Portland, police said.

"KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- A Chiloquin man was pronounced dead after he crashed his truck into a concrete barrier north of Klamath Falls Thursday.
56-year-old Gerald Leroy Day was driving his Ford pickup south on Highway 97 Thursday morning. At around  9 a.m. Day veered the truck across the northbound lane, off of the road's shoulder and into a ditch. The pickup crashed head-on into a concrete barrier about two miles north of Klamath Falls.
A medical emergency is suspected to be the cause of the single-vehicle crash. Day was pronounced dead at the scene, it is unclear what the cause of death was.
The crash caused some traffic congestion near milepost 270 while crews worked to clear the scene."

"SHERIDAN, Ore. -- A pickup truck driver from Grand Ronde died in a collision Sunday that closed Oregon 18 for five hours.
(censored), 73, was pronounced dead at the scene. None of the children or adults on the bus from the Newberg Christian Church was hurt.
The crash was reported just after 3:15 p.m. near milepost 35, north of Sheridan, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.
The bus was heading westbound on a church outing to the coast when the crash occurred near milepost 34, police said. Lindberg's eastbound Ford Ranger drifted onto the shoulder, then back onto the eastbound lane, still out of control, hitting the bus.
The bus driver, one adult chaperone and nine pre-teen kids were on the bus. Parents and church members drove to the wreck and took the children to their camp outing."

"CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. — A 42-year-old Cave Junction woman was killed in a crash Saturday afternoon near her hometown and the Oregon State Police need your help potentially with the investigation.
OSP is seeking unidentified witnesses to the crash that happened around 6:30 p.m. What authorities know is a Ford SUV drifted over the centerline, prompting a California woman in another vehicle to swerve which helped avoid a head-on collision, but both cars hit each other in the passenger side. The Ford SUV rolled several times, injuring Michele R. Hebdon who later died at Rogue Valley Medical Center. The SUV’s driver was Ralph E. McCornack, who was released after treatment. It is unknown if either McCornack or Hebdon were wearing seatbelts. Both people in the California car were okay."

"BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- A man killed this morning in a crash this morning on Alabama 79 in northeast Birmingham has been identified.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 41-year-old (censored) of Pinson.
The wreck happened about 5:25 a.m. when a gray, 1990s model Mercury sedan Moreland was driving collided with a flatbed 18-wheeler and caught fire.
Early morning rush hour traffic on Alabama 79, also known as Pinson Valley Parkway, was rerouted for a couple of hours through the Valley East Industrial Park."

"A two-car head-on collision with at least one injury, unknown severity, is reported at Route 20 and Roanoke Road. Pavilion Fire Department and Mercy EMS are responding. They are checking the availability of Mercy Flight.
UPDATE 1:16 p.m.: Mercy Flight 5 out of Batavia is put on ground standby.
UPDATE 1:19 p.m.: A female is injured and will require extrication. She is alert. Le Roy fire is also called. Mercy Flight is launching.
UPDATE 1:21 p.m.: Mercy Flight is on in-air standby.
UPDATE 1:25 p.m.: The driver of the second vehicle is alert. No word on injuries. Mercy Flight is called to the scene and will land in a freshly cut hay field south of the incident.
UPDATE 1:29 p.m.: The accident is not blocking traffic, but the roadway is shut down to handle the emergency. A State Trooper is on scene. Two flatbed tows are called.

"A Todd woman found herself between a rock and a hard place Saturday after a wreck on the N.C. 105 Extension.

Joann Jones of Todd said she didn't know what caused her to run off the road in her 1983 Cadillac at about 4:15 p.m. Saturday, but the wreck left her car wedged between a brick wall and the BB&T building.

Jones said she was headed down the hill adjacent to the bank and preparing to merge into the turn lane when the wreck occurred.

Her sturdy gray Cadillac plowed through a metal railing beside the sidewalk and landed about 10 feet below on its passenger side.

Boone police, firefighters and medics quickly made their way to the scene, where the found Jones still in her vehicle but unhurt.

"They opened the door, and with their help, I climbed out," Jones said.

The accident damaged the vehicle and the brick wall but caused no damage to the bank building. A wrecker from Hampton's Body Shop pulled the vehicle up on its side before flipping it upright.

Police were still investigating the accident Saturday afternoon."

"There were no injuries reported from a two-vehicle wreck that occurred on Turner McCall Boulevard near its intersection with East Ninth Street on Saturday at about 5:20 p.m.

Rome police and Rome-Floyd Fire Department officials responded to the wreck.

According to Pfc. Aaron Thacker:

Kara Winters, 26, of an Alabama Highway address, was driving her dark blue Toyota 4-Runner south on Turner McCall and tried to turn left onto East Ninth Street. She had stopped in the turning lane when Shane Woody, of a Calhoun Road address, was heading south in his older model Dodge Dakota truck, drifted into the turning lane and clipped her rear passenger’s side.

Woody’s truck traveled an estimated 30 yards before he ran head-on into a ditch.

Both Winters and Woody were unhurt from the wreck as well as Woody’s passenger, 20-year-old Melissa Hance.

Thacker said a small child was in the truck with Woody and Hance and was upset by the wreck, but didn’t appear to be injured. She was taken to Floyd Medical Center for a check-up.

"A red Dodge minivan jumped the curb and plowed into a Georgia family as they walked on a Little Havana sidewalk after leaving the Marlins game Saturday night, killing three family members and the van driver.
Killed were a 13-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy and a 50-year-old woman, who were all related.
The minivan driver, identified on Sunday as (Censored), 67, of Miami, also died. Ortega may have suffered a medical emergency prior to losing control of his van.
The four victims were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where they were pronounced dead.
A 10-year-old girl, who was also struck by the vehicle, remains in extremely critical condition at the hospital.
The victims’ names have not been released because police are trying to locate their next of kin. The relation between the victims is also unclear.
A man, who was walking with the family but was not injured, was so overcome with grief after the accident he too had to be hospitalized.
The accident occurred about 7:30 p.m. in front of an apartment building at 1760 NW Seventh St., about a block from the new Marlins Park.
The victims were among the fans streaming out of the stadium after the 4:10 p.m. game had ended in a victory for the Marlins over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Police said it appeared Ortega, behind the wheel of a 2006 Dodge Caravan, was eastbound on Northwest Seventh Street on the far right lane when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the family, headed westbound on the sidewalk.
Ortega rammed through metal handrails that line the apartment building’s entrance before striking the family on the sidewalk near the entrance to the parking garage.
A sixth person, a man passing by on a bicycle was also struck, but police said he was not seriously injured.
Neighbors said they heard the impact of the crash from inside their homes in the neighboring block. Then they heard the screams.
They said the man, the surviving member of the family, was despondent
“I think it was the grandfather who kept screaming and screaming,” said Osvaldo Romero, a neighbor."

"Several people have been sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Notre Dame Avenue, according to Greater Sudbury Police Service.

That's all the information that is currently known, a police spokesperson said. The collision is under investigation.

According to witnesses, the crash happened around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Notre Dame and Leslie Street. The collision involved a black Chevrolet Cavalier and a tan-coloured Chevrolet Impala.

As a result of the collision, the Impala flipped over and came to rest in the parking lot of the Prestige Apartments, while the Cavalier crashed into the the traffic-light pole.

Residents in the area said the intersection is known for being dangerous, and too many vehicles run red lights. As pedestrians, they are always on the lookout for dangerous situations.

A handicap parking permit could be seen in lying inside the Impala, while a wheelchair was removed from the Cavalier."

3 in same family killed in White County car crash.

"WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A deadly crash happened Friday afternoon along a stretch of road that has seen multiple wrecks in recent weeks.
White County officials said the three people who died were riding in the same car and members of the same family.  Two other children in the back seat were seriously injured.
It happened around 3:50 p.m. on the curve where U.S. 24 meets County Road 50 South, about a mile and a half east of Reynolds.             
Sheriff Patrick Shafer said a white car going east crossed the center line for an unknown reason and side- swiped a brown pickup truck driving in the opposite direction.  The brown pickup ended up in the ditch and the white car then hit a second pickup truck.
"The white car continued eastbound and striking the red pickup truck which was traveling westbound.  Those two vehicles then struck head-on,” Shafer said.
Shafer said two adults and a child in the white car were killed.  Two small children were taken to Franciscan St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette and then were airlifted to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis in critical condition.
The pickup truck drivers and a passenger in the brown pickup were fine. No names are being released at this time..         
Authorities said there have been three crashes along that stretch of road in the last month or two.           
The crash remains under investigation."

Car Hits Anderson County Home, Trapped Man Rescued.

"ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. --
Three people were taken to a hospital when a car hit a home in Anderson County Tuesday night.
Anderson County Fire Chief Billy Gibson says the call came in from 2308 Rolling Green Road around 11:30 Monday night, reporting that a car had struck a house and two people were trapped inside.
Firefighters arrived on scene and found a man trapped underneath the car.
They began administering aid to the victims, but their biggest concern was getting the patients out without a collapse due to the structural damage to the house. They called in Anderson County Technical Rescue to shore up the building.
 “Our major concern is always the safety of our responders, so we don’t want them going into an environment that could become dangerous and that was one of our main concerns…we didn’t know how badly the damage was to the structure of the house. So getting them in there and shoring it up and make sure it was structurally sound so we could get the patient out", said Chief Gibson.
They were able to extricate him and he was transported to Anderson Area Medical Center.
Beth Sharp lives across the street and has been friends with the couple for 30 years. She was going to bed and heard screeching tires and then a crash. She went out and saw the car inside the house.
Sharp said, ”She (the victim's wife) was trying to rip away the wall and stuff  and the car was jammed up into the living room and she kept saying…my husband, my husband, he’s in here, I’ve got to get him out".
Chief Gibson says it appears that a female driver of a Honda was backing out of a driveway across the street and at some point lost control.
She backed across the road, through the yard and into the house. The man who was trapped under the car was asleep on the couch when the car struck.
The driver was transported along with the two people inside the home.
Captain Bruce Spigener of the Broadway Fire Department was one of the first responders on the scene.
"It could've been a lot worse, but luckily it was not for him or for us," he said.
Chief David Burnette of the Broadway Fire Department says it's a miracle the man survived.
"It's just amazing the way the car come in there and he ended up in the right spot not to get hurt any worse than he was," said Burnette. "Yeah, I definitely say he had a couple angels with him last night.""

Suspected DUI crash shuts down Ingraham in PB.

"SAN DIEGO — A 63-year-old suspected drunken driver and his 41-year-old female passenger were injured early Friday when the truck they were in slammed into a wall in Pacific Beach.

The crash on Ingraham Street near Crown Point Drive was reported at 4:50 a.m., San Diego police said.

The Ford F-150 hit the wall at a high speed and both occupants had to extricated by firefighters, police said.

The pair were hospitalized and are expected to survive. The woman suffered serious leg injuries.

Ingraham was shut down between Buena Vista Street and West Mission Bay Drive and was reopened about 10 a.m., police said.

A traffic alert has been issued."

"GREENPORT — Four people were hospitalized Friday morning after a 15-year-old runaway from a Columbia County youth facility struck two oncoming vehicles while trying to elude police in a van he acquired, police said.
Troopers in Livingston were still investigating how the teen, who was wanted by the county sheriff's department, obtained keys to a white van that he took for a ride about 11:12 p.m. Thursday. Troopers identified the teen as a runaway from the Berkshire Farms youth facility and said he was taken into custody after a more than five-hour manhunt.
Police did not release his name because of his age.
The incident started, according to State Police, when troopers tried to stop the white van for weaving on Route 23 in Claverack. The driver accelerated through a red light, narrowly missing a vehicle, and onto Route 23B, police said. With police in pursuit for about two miles, they said, the van driver lost control of the vehicle. The van crossed the road's center line, struck two oncoming vehicles and rolled over, State Police said. The 15-year-old fled the scene on foot, suffering only minor abrasions, police said.
Four injured people from the two other vehicles were taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital, police said. One of them appeared to have suffered serious injuries, Sgt. Craig Guy said in an interview. He could not provide medical conditions for the victims.
State Police used bloodhounds to locate the 15-year-old after he left the scene of the accident. They were assisted by several area police and fire departments, the county Sheriff's Office and Northern Dutchess Paramedics. Police found the teen in his grandmother's garage, not far from the scene, about 4:45 a.m. Friday, Guy said. The teen was wanted by the sheriff's department on a previous juvenile warrant issued by a county Family Court judge, police said.
Police were investigating if the teenager got the van from an acquaintance, Guy said.
The teen was evaluated at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, Guy said. He was expected to be charged as a juvenile in Family Court, with charges including two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer. Alcohol or drugs did not appear to be contributing factors, State Police said."

"GRANGER —A three-vehicle accident Friday evening sent one woman to a local hospital and created headaches for drivers in the area of Bittersweet Road and S.R. 23.

At the scene, WSBT's Clifton French says the crash occured just after 6 p.m. when a northbound car on S.R. 23 slowed to turn west on Bittersweet Road.
The car was rear-ended by a pickup truck, which sent the car into the southbound lane of S.R. 23. There the car and minivan collided.
As of 6:30 p.m., S.R. 23's southbound traffic is blocked and one lane is open for northbound traffic.
The woman's condition is unknown."
