"A LifeCare Ambulance responding to a medical emergency at the Lorain County Community College this afternoon was struck outside of their station on West Ave and 2nd Street. The impact of the crash sent the red compact car up into an apartment building on the northwest corner of West & 2nd taking out a street sign and moving the concrete steps of the building off its foundation.
The driver of the red car, Benitha Fryson of Lorain, was driving west on 2nd Street while the Ambulance was northbound, with lights and sirens, on West Ave. The report states that the Ambulance stopped at the light to check around construction vehicles that were in the intersection, and then proceeded. Fryson, even though LifeCare had their lights and siren going, went through the intersection striking the ambulance. Elyria Police cited Fryson for failing to yield an emergency vehicle.
Residents of the apartment building did not see the crash but certainly felt it. One resident said she heard the crash then felt the building shake. “We had to climb down the fire escape ladder because the front door was blocked”.
Elyria Police Department is investigating the non-injury crash. "

Rt. 301 Roll Over Crash
Date: 10/10/2006
Time: Around 6:00 A.M.
Location: Near Lagrange, Ohio
Vehicle(s) Involved: Chevy S10
By TMCNews
"A deer crossing Rt. 301 near Parsons early this morning was the cause of a single vehicle roll over crash. Carlisle Township Fire Department and LifeCare Ambulance responded around 6am to Rt. 301 and Parsons for a truck on its roof. Chief Russ Gardner of the Carlisle Township Fire Department said the driver was thrown from the vehicle approximately 50 feet after striking the deer. The Fire Department had arranged for Metro LifeFlight to land at the scene but due to a long ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) LifeCare Ambulance transported the victim to Elyria Memorial Hospital. Metro LifeFlight later transported the victim from EMH to Cleveland.
Gardner told TMC NEWS that they also responded to Rt. 301 near Slife Rd. approximately 5 hours later for another single car roll over in a ditch. A 16 year old female was northbound on 301 and lost control of her vehicle ending up in the ditch. Central Lorain County Ambulance District transported the female to Allen Medical Center in Oberlin for treatment.
Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating both crashes."

Woman killed in crash on Route 254.
Date: 06/19/2010
Time: Around 7:10 P.M.
Location: Sheffield Township, Ohio
Vehicle(s) Involved: Ford Windstar, box truck
By Adam Wright
"SHEFFIELD TWP. — A crash at state routes 57 and 254 claimed the life of an elderly woman Friday night.
Wilma Sebastian, 82, of North Ridgeville, was a passenger in a Ford Windstar travelling east on Route 254 that collided with a box truck headed north on Route 57 about 7:10 p.m. She was taken to EMH Regional Medical Center with severe injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Ohio Highway Patrol is still investigating who was at fault.
“There’s some conflicting statements as to who was on green or red,” said Sgt. Paul March, of the patrol’s Elyria post.
The impact caved in the passenger side of the Windstar and sent it careering into the far right westbound lane of state Route 254, where it came to a stop. The box truck received minor visible damage.
Gregory Hudnall, 55, of Elyria, was the driver of the van and Sebastian’s son-in-law, according to March. He had cuts on his hands from broken glass but refused treatment at the scene. Adele Hudnall, 53, also a passenger in the van, was transported to EMH with non life-threatening injuries, according to the patrol.
Both Hudnalls and Sebastian were wearing seat belts.
The driver of the truck, Danny Morrison, 51, also of Elyria, was taken to Community Regional Medical Center about three hours after the crash for a possible head injury, March said.
Route 57 northbound and Route 254 east and westbound were reduced to one lane while the crash was investigated.
The crash remains under investigation."

Head-On Crash on Lancaster Injures Three People.
Date: 01/04/2012
Time: Around 3:40 P.M.
Location: Salem, Oregon
Vehicle(s) Involved: Saturn SL1, Mercury Sable, Subaru(no picture)
By Salem-News
"Salem, Oregon – A 3-car, head-on crash resulted in three people seeking treatment for injuries Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies Matt Hingston, Dave Wagner and Skip Lumley arrived at the intersection of Lancaster Drive SE and Munkers Street SE, minutes after receiving the 3:45pm call. Marion County Fire District and medics were also dispatched to assist with the injured parties.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2005 Subaru was traveling northbound on Lancaster in the right hand lane. At the intersection of Munkers, the driver pulled into the left lane but side-swiped a 1996 Saturn that was also traveling northbound on Lancaster Drive. The Saturn was pushed into the southbound lanes of Lancaster Drive and crashed head-on into a 2002 Mercury. A small engine fire erupted in the Mercury but it was quickly extinguished. It was raining and the roadway was wet at the time of the crash, but weather does not appear to be a factor in this crash.
The driver of the Subaru, Viktor Paplinskiy, 40, of Salem, stated he didn’t see the Saturn as he started his lane change. He was not aware of his speed at the time of the crash. Paplinskiy was uninjured. There were no passengers in his vehicle.
The driver of the Saturn is identified as Alexandra Taylor, 20, of Salem. She received minor facial injuries and transported herself to Salem Hospital for treatment. She told deputies she was traveling about 30 mph when her car was struck on the right side by the Subaru.
The driver of the Mercury is identified as Charles Dyram, 84, of Silverton. He was treated by Medics at the scene and then transported to the Salem Hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries is unknown and consistent with HIPAA regulations; no further reports on his condition will be issued. Dyram said he was traveling at 30-35mph just before the crash and was unable to avoid the Saturn.
His wife was a passenger in his vehicle. She is identified as Shirley Dyram, 82. She was also treated at the scene and transported to Salem Hospital for further treatment. Consistent with HIPAA regulations; no further reports on her condition will be issued.
Deputy Hingston noted. “The injuries in this crash could have been worse. The drivers and passenger were wearing seatbelts and the airbags in the Saturn and Mercury clearly minimized the impact to Ms. Taylor and the Dyrams”.

Sheriff: Suicidal woman, 70, crashed head-on into pickup.
Date: 11/02/2011
Time: Around 10:30 P.M.
Location: Boise, Idaho
Vehicle(s) Involved: Buick LaCrosse, Dodge Dakota, Ford F-250
By KBOI2.com staff
"BOISE, Idaho - A three car crash Wednesday morning was caused by a 70-year-old woman who was apparently trying to kill herself by driving into oncoming traffic, the Ada County, Idaho, Sheriff's Office says.
The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of State Street and Bogart Lane.
The sheriff's office says the woman from Eagle, Idaho, was driving a Buick LaCrosse eastbound on State State when she swerved into oncoming traffic and attempted to hit an oncoming vehicle. The two cars missed each other and the Buick returned to the proper lane.
But as the woman approached Bogart Lane, she again swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with a Ford F-250 pickup truck, causing it to roll.
The 64-year-old driver of the truck was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He is currently in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Doctor's say he is expected to survive, but he remains in critical condition.
The sheriff's office says after the Buick hit the Ford truck, it then also struck the Dodge pickup truck that was driving behind the Ford. The 16-year-old driver of the Dodge was treated for minor injuries at the hospital and released.
Officials say the 70-year-old driver of the Buick was also taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Investigators say she told them she intentionally drove into oncoming traffic to attempt to kill herself.
The sheriff's office says that charges are pending against the 70-year-old woman, and that after its investigation it will forward that information to the prosecutor's office.
The woman's name is being withheld until charges have been filed."

Crash leaves car suspended at TVW building; no one is injured.

"A car being driven about 25 mph suddenly accelerated, vaulted off a hill and smashed into the TVW building in downtown Olympia on Wednesday, witnesses said.

"A car being driven about 25 mph suddenly accelerated, vaulted off a hill and smashed into the TVW building in downtown Olympia on Wednesday, witnesses said.
The crash left the sedan, a Chrysler New Yorker, suspended over an
alley separating the parking lot used by TVW and the TVW building
itself, at 1063 Capitol Way S. The driver, a man in his mid-80s, was
stuck inside the vehicle for about 10 minutes as Olympia Fire Department
personnel worked to remove him. He wasn’t injured.
The crash drove a locker that was against a wall inside a TVW break room onto the ground; that could have injured employees had the 2 p.m. crash happened during the lunch hour, TVW President Greg Lane said.
Police Officer Rob Beckwell was interviewing the driver Wednesday. He was conscious and alert, Beckwell said.
“He’s OK, just a little disoriented,” he said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, Beckwell said.
“We’re just really pleased no one was hurt,” Lane said. “It looks like the driver’s OK.”
TVW is the state’s public-affairs network, a TV station that bills itself as this state’s version of C-SPAN.
The man driving erratically on Capital Way and was in a crash at a stoplight near the Capitol before pulling into the TVW parking lot, witnesses said. Investigators think the driver had struck a state vehicle at the stoplight before turning into the TVW lot, Officer Brenda Anderson said.
Adam Meyer and his sister Lindsey were driving behind the sedan when, they say, it was involved in the crash near the Capitol. They said they watched as the driver pulled into the TVW lot. The second crash was extremely loud, they said.
“We were listening to dubstep and we heard it,” Lindsey Meyer said.
Inside the break room at TVW, relieved employees surveyed the damage.
“Normally, we’re right in these chairs watching TV” during lunch, senior production manager Patrick Maxwell said.
TVW is having an engineer examine the building to make sure it is structurally sound, Lane said.
It is too early to tell whether any citations will be issued, Beckwell said."

"MISSION VALLEY
— A BMW crashed over the edge of a third-story parking structure at
Fashion Valley, injuring a passenger when it landed on its roof onto two
parked cars Saturday.
The crash occurred about 1:15 p.m. near Cheesecake Factory and Nordstrom.
Police
Officer Frank Cali said the driver of a silver BMW X5 was trying to
back out of the space when another driver was passing by. The man pulled
back into the space to let the car pass. On a second attempt to exit
the space, another driver approached and honked the horn. When pulling
back into the space, the man accidentally hit the accelerator instead of
the brake, causing the SUV to plunge over the side of the structure,
police said.
The SUV
teetered for a bit before it flipped, landing on its roof on the front
end of a Kia Sorrento and the back end of a Mercedes Benz sedan,
shattering the glass on both vehicles.
The
driver, who appeared to be in his 70s, was able to get out of the BMW
on his own, police and witnesses said. His girlfriend, who was a
passenger, was trapped in the wreckage. Witnesses did not want to
further injure her and waited for paramedics to extricate her, said Chad
Robley, who saw the crash and stopped to help.
She
was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, said San Diego police
accident investigator Mike Gottfried. The driver did not require
hospitalization. No one on the ground was hurt.
The Kia and the Mercedes were parked illegally, police said.
One
ground-level entrance to the parking garage was closed by mall
officials, but all three levels of the parking garage remained open
during the investigation."
